Meet Sam ~ He’s around 10 lbs and is between 3-5 yrs old we think.  Sam hung out near a restaurant in downtown Ajijic, Mexico and after someone saw this little guy make it through several nights of rainstorms by himself – they decided to rescue him.  He must have been hit by a car at some point in his life as he had a severe limp. He was operated on to stabilize the bones but the limp couldn’t be corrected.  The limp doesn’t get in the way of running around now or even jumping up for attention!
He is very sweet with people – loves to cuddle and kiss. Clearly desperate to bond with someone. He makes a great lap dog and also enjoys being placed in a shoulder bag for walks around town. His foster in Mexico says he “Enjoys meeting people. But also easy to put him in his kennel for a long nap or overnight”
Sam does tolerate other dogs but definitely likes to be the center of attention – so he’d be best in a home as an only dog or with other dogs who don’t care about him.
He flies to Portland on Nov. 19th – Will you be his  hero?
